Pool Repair Technician
Experienced repair tech for pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, and automation.
Posted June 25, 2026
Atlantis Pools is hiring an experienced Pool Repair Technician to join our Danville-based team.
This is a repair-focused position for someone who already knows pool equipment and takes pride in diagnosing problems correctly, making clean repairs, and delivering professional service to customers. We are looking for a technician with at least 5 years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and installing pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, automation, plumbing, valves, electrical components, and related equipment.
Atlantis Pools is a family-owned pool service and repair company serving Danville and the surrounding East Bay for more than 30 years. We work with high-quality residential customers throughout Danville, Alamo, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, and nearby communities.
We are looking for someone dependable, skilled, organized, and professional who can represent Atlantis Pools well in the field.
What you’ll do
- Troubleshoot and repair pool pumps, booster pumps, motors, seals, bearings, impellers, and variable-speed pumps
- Service and install filters, heaters, salt cells, chlorinators, automation systems, timers, valves, cleaners, and equipment pads
- Diagnose heater problems, flow issues, pressure problems, electrical issues, automation failures, salt system issues, plumbing leaks, and equipment malfunctions
- Work with major brands such as Pentair, Jandy, Hayward, Polaris, and Zodiac
- Install and program variable-speed pumps and automation systems
- Re-plumb equipment pads, replace valves, repair leaks, and improve system performance
- Perform salt cell inspections and cleanings, filter cleanings, equipment upgrades, and system start-ups
- Communicate clearly with customers about findings, repair options, and completed work
- Document repairs, parts used, recommendations, and follow-up needs
- Keep your vehicle, tools, and job sites clean, safe, and organized
This is not an entry-level pool repair or pool service position. We are looking for someone who can walk up to an equipment pad, diagnose the problem, explain what needs to be done, and complete professional repair work with minimal supervision.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of pool repair, pool equipment, or closely related field-service experience
- Strong knowledge of pool pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, automation, valves, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience diagnosing and repairing equipment from brands such as Pentair, Jandy, Hayward, and other major manufacturers
- Ability to install, repair, and program modern pool equipment and automation systems
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, pressure gauges, and standard diagnostic tools
- Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners and team members
- Clean, organized work habits
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in East Bay weather conditions
- Reliability, honesty, and pride in your craftsmanship
Preferred experience
These are not all required, but they are a major plus:
- Heater troubleshooting and repair experience
- Automation setup and programming experience
- Variable-speed pump programming
- Salt system diagnostics and repair
- Equipment pad rebuilds and plumbing rework
- Electrical troubleshooting and low-voltage or control-system experience
- Experience with high-end residential customers
- CPO certification, manufacturer training, or other pool industry training
Compensation and benefits
A good fit looks like this
You are the kind of technician who enjoys solving problems. You can diagnose why a heater isn't working, why a booster pump is not running, why a salt cell is not producing, why an automation system is not communicating, and be able to install a whole control panel if needed. You know how to explain the issue to a customer clearly and professionally. You take pride in your work, don't receive callbacks often, and leave customers confident in your work.
You do not cut corners. You show up on time. You keep your vehicle and tools organized. You communicate issue or things going wrong. You take pride in being the person customers and coworkers trust when equipment needs to be fixed right.
Why work with Atlantis Pools?
Atlantis Pools is not a national chain or a high-turnover route shop. We are a local, family-owned East Bay company with a long reputation for quality service, reliable communication, and professional pool care.
You will be working with customers who value good work, on equipment that requires real technical skill, in a service area close to home. We provide the vehicle, gas card, tools, work phone, and benefits needed to help you do your job professionally.
For the right experienced technician, this is a long-term opportunity to become an important part of a respected local company.
